Sub.: Clarification regarding re-imbursement of Children Education Allowance & Hostel Subsidy for extended Academic Year (November 2022 to March 2023) in respect of UT of J&K-reg.

Attention is invited to Board’s above referred letters, wherein instructions regarding Children Education Allowance/Hostel Subsidy (CEA/HS), issued from time to time by Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T), were circulated for implementation on the Railways.
- DoP&T vide their OM No. A-27012/01/2024-Pers.Policy(AL) dated 08.07.2024 have communicated the decision to allow reimbursement of CEA/HS for 5 additional months w.e.f. November 2022 to March 2023 to employees posted in various Central Govt. Offices of Union Territory (UT) of J&K, owing to extension of academic session by UT of J&K to synchronize their academic session with the rest of the country, as per provision contained in their OM dated 17.07.2018, circulated vide Board’s letter cited under Ref(ii) above. A copy of DoP&T’s aforesaid OM is enclosed and it is advised that the instructions contained therein shall apply mutatis-mutandis to Railway employees posted in the UT of J&K.
- Necessary action may be taken accordingly.
